» I would like to build a canopy out of copper pipe ?

does any one have any ideas I have a King size bed.Copper pipe is easy to work with once you've figured out how to solder, which isn't difficult, but if you want pipe of any size at all, it's going to be kind of expensive, and the smaller sizes of pipe will bend if they're in long pieces and they have stuff hanging from them so design might be an issue here. Look at using PVC pipe painted with copper looking spray paint. (1) It's going to be WAY cheaper and (2) it's going to be MUCH lighter to hang. Depends on how elaborate you want to get. PVC is easy to work with, easy to cut. Without knowing exactly what look you're going for it's hard to advise further. Many years ago, Christopher Lowell...... - 2008-12-19

» So Who Do You Want As Manager?

Practically every manager out of work has been linked to the vacant job at Leicester among these names are:- PETER REID - Looks like the favourite IAN DOWIE - Would he leave Coventry? GLENN ROEDER - Former West Ham & Newcastle Manager GARY MEGSON - Took West Brom into The Premiership PAUL JEWELL - EX Wigan manager - and my choiceJewell, Grayson, Burley or Johnson would be impressive. However, its certain to be someone crap. In fact, the way things are going, I wouldn't be suprised if we offered the Birch the job.My vote is for someone who's going to be given more than a year. Let someone start and finish two full seasons. No one's done that since MON left. In fact, only MON and Brian Little have done that since 1991. It's going to be...... - 2008-12-19

» Getting Music Videos from Record Labels

Is there a list or way to find out about the newest music videos released by all of the record labels out there? I know that labels will host the videos on their own websites and stream it to others for album/artist promotional uses. The problem today with networks like MTV is that they will only air what they think will appeal to their audience, but what about all of the other bands and music videos that exist, especially the ones around the world in other languages? I am looking for a way to be alerted of new music videos directly from the labels themselves all around the world (not just English/US videos). I am trying to come up with a free searchable database of music videos, and I am finding it very tough to locate videos. So far I h...... - 2008-12-19

What are the most common approaches to earn money with a homepage (i.e. advertising banners,...? I am thinking about starting an internet business... And is there a website, list, etc. where you can find business ideas for a web based business? You can earn revenue by: 1. Selling advertising banners that appear on your site. You get revenue from both the fact the banner appears and from each "click-through" (when someone clicks on the banner and vists the advertised site). You may get additional revenues if the click-through results in a sale for the advertiser. 2. You can derive revenue from a linking agreement, i.e., you charge other sites a fee to place a link to their sites on your home page. You typcially charge more for...... - 2008-12-19

» Any class-action lawsuits against Rooms-To-Go?

Rooms-to-go is a US nationwide retailer of furniture. A friend's sofa, purchased from Rooms-to-go lasted just over one year under normal use. Unfortunately, the warranty was only for one year. My friend seemed to believe that the sofa was defective, because of the material used for the stuffing, and other factors. I explained to my friend that small claims court would be a big hassle, and he would probably lose because it had been over a year. In any event, the damages could be only $200-$300 or so. From PlanetFeedback.com, I learned that many customers were unhappy with Rooms-To-Go over poor customer service, defective workmanship, and delivery of damaged "new" furniture. It occurred to me that this kind of behav...... - 2008-12-19

I just moved some of my previous research over into that thread. Its a start! Please add here any you would like checked out, with any links to info thats supporting. We can research them and add them to the main thread as time permits. My personal hope is that by doing so; we can provide an easy to use compilation of the potential interventions that people may be hearing or thinking about. Sticking to the format will make it easier to understand and help them in their research, and/or to print out the info to take with them to their healthcare provider for further discussion.i'...... - 2008-12-19

» Redheads in Japan!

Recenty someone told me that redheads are admired in Japan. Is this true? Orange hair must be fairly uncommon in Japan, but considering the wide range of colours in anime and J-rock/pop, it can't be that special. Maybe it's just their fair skin. But I've heard that many Japanese actually have a reddish tinge to their undyed hair. Any ideas from people who live or have visited Japan? As a redhead myself, I'm wondering what sort of reaction I'd get if I ever traveled there. ;)First, take everything you've seen in Anime and J-rock/pop, and remove it from your mind. You now have a more correct image of Japan. Because of the way Japanese hair is, getting the real redhead color (or anything outside of orange or black) is close to im...... - 2008-12-19

» What's the difference between Agnostics and Athiests?

I've heard they are very similar. Could someone clear this up for me even though the people who claim to be them are full of crap?Agnostics say they neither believe nor disbelieve in God. They're in limbo. Not sure. Atheists don't believe in God at all.Agnostics believe that god, or anything else supernatural for that matter, is unknowable at this point and probably will stay that way. Atheists believe that god or any god doesn't exist period. Either way they are belief. Not knowledge. It's really surprising how many people get this wrong. It's not all that complicated. Atheism is the absence of belief in the existence of gods. Anyone who doesn't think at least one god exists is an atheist. ...... - 2008-12-19

» Odd File(s) question

My vBulletin came to a screeching halt earlier today. The server loads were way above 50.0. I had server support look into it, they informed me there were a great number of perl scripts running. All I basically run on this server is my vbulletin site. After further review they asked if I recongizied any scripts in /var/lib/pgbackup as being familiar, because they are suspect. Specifically the "local.tgz" and its folder "local". The also asked about a process called "brk2". I have no idea what these may be, would anyone here have a clue? Thank you in advance.vB doesn't use any perl scripts unless you have installed add-ons that do this. I have no idea what 'brk2' is. That is not something I recognize as a part of vB....... - 2008-12-19

I shoot a lot of outdoor portraits, and am just starting to learn (again!) about manual settings for my camera (Canon 20D). My question is... Do you guys who know how to use manual settings ever shoot in auto, or do you always shoot in manual? Right now, I still trust the camera more than myself to decide which settings to use, so although I'm practicing in manual a bit, I'm still using auto for shoots. I don't have as much time as I would like to practice since I'm married with 3 small kids and a full-time job, as well as the beginnings of a photography business (I hope!). I've been shopping for filters and am a bit overwhelmed ... there are so many brands and price ranges. Which are the better quality brands? Are there any bargains out there? Any brands to avoid? I've noticed that some retailers (ex: Ritz.com, Adorama.com, etc.) sell filters under their own names ... are these any good?Hoya, B+W, and Camera Brand (Nikon or Canon - I assume Canon makes filters; I know Nikon does) are the best out there. It depends on the filter. » How high is the rock after 2 seconds?

The path of a falling object is given by the function where represents the initial velocity in ft/sec and represents the initial height in feet. Also, s represents the height in feet of the object at any time, t, which is measured in seconds. a) If a rock is thrown upward with an initial velocity of 40 feet per second from the top of a 30-foot building, write the height (s) equation using this information s= -16(2)^2 +40(2) + 30 The distance covered by the rock after 2 seconds can be given by the formula, s = ut - 1/2 gt^2 here u = initial velocity = 40 ft/s t = total time traveled = 2 seconds g = acceleration dure to gravity = 32 ft/sec so, s = 40(2) - (32/2) (2^2) = 80 - 64 = 16 ft. » Capturing computer video out (thru Firewire) to DV Camera

I need to capture onto videotape the images displaying on my laptop's screen. It has been suggested to me that I can use the Firewire connection between my laptop and my video camera, but I've had no luck making it work. Here's the details: Camera: Sony DCR-TRV460 NTSC Computer: Compaq Presario 2500 Software output I'm trying to capture: Keyhole 2LT Note that the output I'm trying to capture is a "video" that the software itself generates in a proprietary format. I've tried several screen capture programs, but none can keep up with the display rate of the presentation. Also note that I am able to send video successfully from my DV camera to my laptop thru Firewire, and video from my laptop to my DV camera th...... - 2008-12-19

Any suggestions is greatly appreciated!"You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby" by Bing Crosby? Lyrics: You must have been a beautiful baby You must have been a wonderful child When you were only starting to go to kindergarten I bet you drove the little boys wild. And when it came to winning blue ribboms You must have shown the other kids how. I can see the judges' eyes as they handed you the prize You must have made the cutest bow. » Is tax evasion a serious crime? ?

Is tax evasion a serious crime? Its not like its a heinous crime, treason or robbery.Tax Evasion is punishable by up to 10 years in prison plus a large fine.It is serious enough that you might wind up in prison. Yes, it is not a heinous crime like robbery,.but there are minimum security prisons. There are several levels in the federal prison system. Level mionimum security is for the non violent crimes, such as tax evasion, while high ( supermax) is for the real badass ( assassins) prisoners. These people are in their own cell and never see the light of day. All cells are underground.Well, you won't be executed for it, or put in prison for life. But you can be prosecuted, and can end up in prison. It's more likely t...... - 2008-12-19

» Gave Commercial landlord check for CAMs and still hasn't cashed it yet.?

Here is the background of the story.... I recently found out that my Commercial Landlord has been overcharging for CAM charges. I now have begun reviewing each charge in detail and disputing those I feel are incorrect. I've asked several times for her accounting breakdown (all requests have gone unanswered). I've been sending in a check for the amount that I feel is my useage. My lease is rent, plus pro-rata on common charges. I am disputing my portion of the water bill, grass cutting, etc. I pay the actual rent on time every month. She recently sent a bill stating I owed CAMs for Aug/08. I reviewed my account to find that I wrote her a check but apparently she didn't cash it. Im sure she didn't cash it because it was le...... - 2008-12-19

» 6 Tips for Shooting Great Sunset Photos

I love taking photos of sunsets. Try these six tricks to capture powerful photos imbued with the beauty and positive feelings of sunsets. 1. Get a Full View: Position yourself on a beach or a highpoint to allow an unrestricted view of the sun for maximum impact. An alternative is to capture the sun falling between trees, next to an attractive monument or reflecting off the water. Make sure your photo isn't too busy with other objects that distract attention. 2. Keep Shooting: More attempts will increase your chances of getting the right results. As the sun gets lower, it tends to get redder as well, so your results should improve in the final moments of a sunset. 3. Look for Clouds: Sunsets on cloudy evenings are more colorful a...... - 2008-12-19

» Homelite Cordless shear

I just installed the 12V batt. from ny Ryobi drill into the Homelite cordless grass shear and used it for the first time.It worked great! This may have been the best $29.99 that I have spent recently(for the combo. kit). The ryobi batteries work in homelite products since they are produced by the same company. My experience with homelite is that at best they are good for occasional use. I have the hedgetrimmer and weedwacker. I use them about once a month and they do an alright job, but the price was unbeatable for what I wanted.Whoa, hey, wait a minute. I didn't spend $479 to become part of the "Orange Revolution" to hear yall speak of Ryobi and Homelight....what's this got to do with Ridgid. -A Pro who Swears by em...... - 2008-12-19

» HOW about a Trading Post setion?

Not trying to turn this form into EBAY, Sometimes one comes across an old (or new) set of tools at a garage sale, estate sale, flea market etc and it is discontinued, or an older style that may be better than a new style. Well they say one persons trash is another person's treasure. As we progress in our skills/needs sometimes we upgrade our tools and sometimes our "old stuff" if not handed down/given away is thrown in a box and forgotten about. Perhaps a "trading post" might be a good idea here. No one should be permitted to post anything "for sale". Just posts of members "looking for" items/tools/hardware/etc from specific era's, projects, etc? Thanks for your consideration. » Lee Trundle

What a class player, I reckon he's definately gonna get snapped up by a Premiership side at the end of the season.A quality player in the third division- but i dont think he stands a chance in the premiership- maybe first division at mostFrom what i've seen of Trundle he could be a great acquisition for a Premiership club. Not only can he finish but he has flair too and is not scared too try anything. Deano. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EnglishFootball/Lee Trundle, only seen him in the FA Cup, but what a player! ok so he literally trundles about, but he has excellent skill, control, finishing, is composed, make good decisions, strong, good freekick taker and i'm sure there's more, as Alan Hansen said 'he's surely too good to be in di...... - 2008-12-19

» How do Ferrets catch their pray in the wild?

I agree with the other poster. Ferrets, as we know them as pets, can't be found in the wild; they are completely domesticated and reliant on humans. Their relatives--mink, polecat, etc chase and pounce/ambush prey or scavenge carcasses.ferrets can't live in the wild they were breed to be house pets they will not survive in the wild.black footed ferret on the other hand will survive in the wild and they catch there pray by jumping or sneaking in back of them and then biting.just look up videos on youtube.comFerrets dont exist in the wild, if you are talking about the regular pet ferret...you do get black footed ferrets but they are quite distinct.idk im sure they hunt hamsters (wild) and rodents im guessing they tunnel through...... - 2008-12-19

sorry this is kinda long..but I need opinions. Now, he usually is very good about taking her and giving me child support on time and in full. my daughter is 3 yrs old. I have full physical custody. But the last month or 2...he seems less interested in taking her. He picks her up every Friday and brings her back Sunday night. about 2 weeks ago...he told me he was "sick" and he was at his friends house and he couldn't get a ride to come get her (car isn't working atm). He said he would call me and let me know what was going on if he was taking her at all...he said he probably would...unless he went to the doctors. » As an American does this worry you?

The USSR hid thousands of 'nuclear-device suitcases' across American territory, still to this day it remains a mystery where they were put, presumably the detonators for these devices are still in the hands of the Russian government, there would be no incoming missile warning for NATO to track, just an instant bang!Interesting, but how do you know this is a fact? Is there a book or news article I could read? No web sites though, I really have a hard time believing people don't post bogus things there. If it IS true it would be something to worry about.kindsa reminds me of 1984 or animal farm...do the govt let us know all?No because it's not true.I didn't hear about this but its kinda freaky.
